EN – Projects

We divided our projects in three categories. Our focus projects are projects that are our main focus for one year. Within this year we can help, develop and encourage the community in taking steps that will lead to being self-reliant.

Our running projects are divided in the objectives: Safety and providing a Temporary Home, Care and Self-Reliance, Education and Creating Opportunities. We deliver small projects that will offer a huge difference with a hands-on approach.

Our finished projects contains projects we have done in the past. So please take a look at what we have been working on and kindly join us with current projects.

Running Projects

Education and creating opportunities

With these projects we aim to help and develop the Mother Cares Educational Complex as much as possible. By providing materials, payment for schoolfees to lift the burden, stimulate the importance of education, to let a schoolbus shuttle within the surrounding area to pick up children and to provide materials and instruction for talent development. We try to combine these projects with projects from Mother Cares Educational Complex as much as possible.

Care and self reliance

With these projects we are aiming to fulfill the special needs within the community. By providing information for young women, financial and juridical help, support for special needs children and to give advice when needed. We try to combine these projects with projects from Mother Cares Outreach and the Mother Cares Girl Child Foundation as much as possible.

Safety and providing a temporary home

With these projects we aim to shelter children within a safe environment. By providing improvement for  living conditions, food, materials, financial and juridical help. We try to combine these projects with projects from Mother Cares Orphanage and Welfare Home and Mother Cares Outreach as much as possible.

Finished Projects

Our finished projects contains projects we have done in the past. So please take a look at what we have been working on and kindly join us with current projects.

School furniture

Every few years we help MCEC with purchasing new school furniture. We try to be as sustainable as possible and provide work to local carpenters.

Nika nika

With the purchase of our grain mills is Mother Cares capable to work their own raw materials. They gain extra income to provide and offer their service to the surrounding areas.

Toilet block

We helped Mother Cares with a new toilet block, the old one was not adequate for both the children and school children. The toilets for boys and girls have been made separate, with special attention for female hygiene.

Nursery

In 2014, together with the best local professionals, we have build a nursery. Unfortunately a giant storm in 2018 made us rebuild a part of it.

JHS

Because of the growing number of students and attendees for JHS, Mother Cares decided to offer courses in JHS. The school is build in 2016.

Playground

Thank to a generous donation, the children have a amazing play ground to have lots of fun!

Coaster

The Coaster was renovated in order to serve as a way of income. It can ride as a bus between cities. Sadly a severe accident made the bus not being used at the time.

Fufu

The favorite food of many children! To make fufu manually is a lot of work, therefore we bought a machine to do it quick for them to enjoy.

Solar

In 2015 solar panels were placed on the roof of the home. The regular network is very unreliable.

Water

Clean drinking water is important and that’s why it’s been on our priority list ever since. Realising a stable flow is difficult, which makes us invest in it on a regular base.

Micro credit

Dosseh has been working at Mother Cares for years now. With his income it’s hard to provide for his children. Now he owns a motorbike to use as taxi transportation. Need a ride in Swedru?

Individual gifts

Children who are housed at Mother Cares or grew older and just moved out, can count on us! If they need help getting started, we help them with basic needs, scholing or rent.
